This Privacy Policy explains how NekoTranslate ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the Service.
Account Data: email address, hashed password, usage credits, account creation date, last password reset time, active plan and its corresponding billing period, and future plan changes scheduled to take effect.
Billing Data: subscription and payment details are processed and stored by Paddle - we can access this information through Paddle's systems but do not store it in our own database.
Usage Metadata: source and target language, selected translation engine, number of pages, number of translated pages, credit cost, timestamp, processing status or error, IP address, and user ID (where applicable).
Analytics Data: anonymised usage statistics collected via Google Analytics to improve the user experience.
We process the data described above to operate the Service, manage subscriptions and payments, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations and improve the user experience. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interests.
We use cookies and similar technologies to provide essential functionality and to analyse usage with Google Analytics. Google Analytics anonymises IP addresses before storage.
Passwords are stored in hashed form. We do not store the documents you upload or the resulting translations; only the metadata listed above is retained.
Personal data is kept only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy and is protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures.
We share personal data only with service providers acting on our behalf, such as Paddle for billing (Paddle.com Market Ltd is the Merchant of Record for all orders and will appear on your bank or card statement), Google Analytics for analytics, and third-party AI services (including OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, DeepL and Google Cloud Translate) for text translation. For these AI services, request and response logging is disabled to protect your privacy. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to safeguard your data.
The Service is not directed to persons under 16 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided personal data, we will delete such information without delay.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise permitted by law. When we no longer need the data, we will delete or anonymise it securely.
Service providers may process data outside your jurisdiction. Where required, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on the Service. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
This Policy is provided in English and German. The German version is for convenience only. In the event of any conflict, the English version shall prevail.
